英文课程混龄分班上课

亲爱的家长您好:
 
    由于学生人数的增加,这学期的英文课程, 在三、四年级阶段, 我们为孩子们进行混龄分班上课, 依据孩子现有的英文程度, 包含听、说、读、写, 分为A、B两班。两班使用不同的课本,英文A班(English A)用的是第二册,英文B班(English B)则是第三册。
 
    此做法的目的是希望孩子能在适合自己理解力的课程中获得最大的收获。过难的课程,除了给孩子带来过度的焦虑,这样的压力成为学习的阻力,也会打击孩子的信心,更甚者将失去对英文这门学科的兴趣。反之,低于程度太多的课程亦会让孩子在学习上缺乏挑战和成就感, 失去学习的乐趣,也难获得成效与进展。
 
    因此我们希望为孩子们做妥善的安排,在合适的课堂里建构英文能力,当然,在学期中, 亦会随时因孩子的课程吸收和能力发展做课堂调换,最主要还是要孩子们在适性的课程中快乐的学习,并从中获得最大的收获。相信各位家长与我们的理念是一致的, 最后,感谢大家对本校的支持。

Dear Parents,
There is an increase in the student number of Grade 3 and 4 this semester. Therefore, we mix their grades and separate them on the basis of their current English ability including listening, speaking, reading and writing. These students are settled in English A and English B, where English A uses Textbook 2 and English B uses Textbook 3.
 
The purpose of this arrangement focuses on locating the pupils in the appropriate curriculum which their understanding could be best applied to, so that they can gain the most from it. A class far above the pupils’ ability brings nothing but much anxieties and unnecessary pressure which reduce their interests in English and hinder their learning instead. On the other hand, a class too much under their ability bores the students without challenges and a sense of achievement. Neither could the students benefit from the class or develop English skills.
 
Accordingly, we try to make the best arrangement for our students. We hope our students build up their English ability in the suitable curriculum. And during the semester, according to their learning situation, they could be moved to the other class. We simply hope our students enjoy the learning process and get the most from it. We believe you hold the same faith as we do. Again, we appreciate your kindly support to us.
